Introduction: Paramekkavu College of Arts and Science proudly announces the formation of its alumni association, aptly named the Paramekkavu College of Arts and Science Alumni Association. This initiative aims to foster a continuous bond between the college and its alumni, promoting a spirit of camaraderie and lifelong connection. Formation Meeting: The inaugural meeting to discuss the formation of the alumni association was held on April 3, 2024. The gathering saw enthusiastic participation from former students, faculty, and administration members, all eager to contribute to the establishment of a robust alumni network. Key Positions and Office Bearers: During the meeting, the following individuals were elected to the key positions within the association: President: Abhay K Vice President :Athira T Secretary : Ribu P Roy Joint Secretary: Anugraha Ramdas Treasurer: Syamkrishna S Executive Members: Lavanya Pradeep Emil Rose Mathew These office bearers were entrusted with the responsibility of steering the association towards its goals and ensuring its effective functioning. Objectives of the Alumni Association: The primary objectives of the Paramekkavu College of Arts and Science Alumni Association are as follows: 1. Fostering Community: Creating a platform for alumni to stay connected with each other and the college. 2. Networking Opportunities: Facilitating professional networking opportunities among alumni and current students. 3. Mentorship: Providing mentorship and guidance to current students from experienced alumni. 4. Supporting the College: Contributing to the development and growth of the college through various initiatives and fundraising activities. 5. Social Engagement: Organizing events, reunions, and social gatherings to strengthen the alumni network. Submission of Application: The formal application for the registration of the Paramekkavu College of Arts and Science Alumni Association was submitted to the Thrissur Register Office on May 16, 2024. This step marks a significant milestone in the official recognition and operational commencement of the association. Bylaws and Regulations: The association's bylaws have been meticulously drafted in accordance with the regulations prescribed by the Thrissur District authorities for the formation of such entities. The key points of the bylaws include: 1. Name and Purpose: - The association shall be known as the Paramekkavu College of Arts and Science Alumni Association. - Its primary purpose is to foster a spirit of loyalty, involvement, and lifelong engagement among alumni and the college community. 2. Membership: - Membership is open to all former students of Paramekkavu College of Arts and Science. - Membership categories include regular members, honorary members, and life members. 3. Governing Body: - The association shall be governed by an Executive Committee consisting of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, and other executive members. - The committee shall meet at least once every quarter to discuss and plan activities. 4. Duties of Office Bearers: - The President shall preside over all meetings and represent the association in external matters. - The Vice President shall assist the President and assume duties in their absence. - The Secretary shall handle correspondence, maintain records, and organize meetings. - The Joint Secretary shall assist the Secretary in their duties. - The Treasurer shall manage the association's finances, maintain accounts, and present financial reports. - The Executive Members shall actively participate in all association activities and support the office bearers. 5. Meetings: - An Annual General Meeting (AGM) shall be held once a year to discuss the association's progress, approve financial statements, and elect office bearers. - Special meetings may be convened as needed to address urgent matters. 6. Finance: - The association shall be funded through membership fees, donations, and fundraising activities. - A bank account shall be maintained in the association's name, and all financial transactions shall be duly recorded. 7. Amendments: - Any amendments to the bylaws shall be proposed by the Executive Committee and approved by a two-thirds majority of the members present at the AGM.
